Use our recommended Bona Pacific Sport Clean, follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Preventative maintenance:
- Preventative maintenance is most effective.
- Inspect the floor for excessive finish wear normally found at doorways and under basketball
hoops. If necessary use the WC Floors inspection service for this (contact us).
- Recoat the floor before the finish is worn through (once every year), so you don't have to re-
sand it. This will protect the wear layer and extend the life of your sports floor.
- Keep outside shoes off the floor.
- Use protective mats in front of doorways to minimize dirt build up.
- Do not drag furniture or large objects back and forth on the floor. Lift and place all objects.
Cleaning:
- Sweep or dust mop (with untreated mop only) daily to remove dust, grit or other abrasive particles.
- Lightly mist your clean mop head with diluted (1 part cleaner to 8 parts water) PACIFIC SPORT CLEAN CONCENTRATE. (Replace soiled mop covers as necessary. Continued use of soiled covers will cause streaking.)
- For spills or spots damp wipe with PACIFIC SPORT CLEAN diluted at the 1 to 8 ratio.
After a recoat:
A minimum of twenty four hours is recommended before returning to the floor area. Providing good
ventilation will minimize the odor and help the floor finish cure faster. You can generally walk on the
floor after 24 - 36 hours, however you should treat your floor with extra care during the first two weeks
and schedule activities accordingly.
DO NOT:
Do not use soaps, strong detergents, waxes, scrubbing machines, oil treated mops or sweeping compounds as they will eventually damage the finish and the wood.
