WC Floors – Limited Warranty Policy

WC Floors LLC (“WC Floors,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a limited workmanship warranty on completed flooring and refinishing projects. We stand behind the quality of our craftsmanship and strive to ensure every customer receives long-lasting, professional results.
This Warranty Policy explains what is covered, what is excluded, and the responsibilities of the homeowner.
1. Workmanship Warranty Coverage
WC Floors provides a 1-year limited workmanship warranty from the date of completion on:

Hardwood floor installation

Vinyl LVP installation
-
Laminate installation
-
Staircase refinishing
-
Hardwood floor refinishing
-
Tile installation
-
Interior molding installation
This warranty covers installation or labor defects caused directly by WC Floors.
If a workmanship-related issue occurs within the warranty period, WC Floors will repair or correct the problem at no additional cost.
2. What This Warranty Covers
The WC Floors Limited Warranty covers the following:
✔ Installation-related issues such as:

Loose or shifting boards (installation-caused)
-
LVP planks not properly locked (installation error)
-
Tiles with improper spacing or leveling (installation-caused)
-
Baseboards or molding detaching due to improper fastening
✔ Refinishing-related issues caused by workmanship:

Visible sanding skips
-
Uneven stain application
-
Finish peeling due to improper application
-
Missed areas or inconsistent coating
✔ Staircase refinishing workmanship issues:
-
Uneven sanding
-
Uneven stain coloration (when conditioner was applied)
-
Finish application defects
WC Floors is committed to ensuring your flooring or refinishing project meets professional standards.
3. What This Warranty Does NOT Cover
The following items are not covered under any circumstances:
❌ A. Customer-Caused Damage

Scratches, dents, gouges, or wear from daily use
-
Damage caused by furniture movement
-
Damage from dragging appliances
-
Pet scratches or urine stains
-
Water damage from spills, leaks, or flooding
-
Damage caused by high heels or abrasive shoes
❌ B. Blue Tape or Any Adhesive Tape
⚠️ Important Mandatory Clause
Using blue tape, painter’s tape, masking tape, or ANY adhesive tape on freshly finished floors voids the warranty entirely.
This includes:

Peeling finish
-
Discoloration
-
Surface lifting
-
Texture damage
Curing can take up to 30 days, depending on products used. Tape damage is 100% excluded from warranty coverage.
❌ C. Environmental, Moisture & Temperature Issues
Wood is a natural product and reacts to environmental changes. Warranty does not cover:

Cupping
-
Crowning
-
Gapping
-
Cracking
-
Shrinking
-
Expansion
-
Buckling from humidity or moisture
Humidity must be maintained between 35%–55% for proper wood stability.
❌ D. Normal Wear and Tear

Finish dulling over time
-
High-traffic lane wear
-
Micro-scratches
-
UV fading or sun discoloration
❌ E. Pre-Existing Conditions
WC Floors is not responsible for:

Subfloor movement
-
Structural issues
-
Prior water damage
-
Termite or insect damage
-
Stains that cannot be removed by sanding
❌ F. Issues Caused by Other Contractors
Warranty is void if:

Painters
-
Movers
-
Plumbers
-
Cleaners
-
Electricians
-
Handymen
Damage or step on floors before full curing.
❌ G. Incorrect Cleaning Products
Warranty does not cover damage caused by:

Steam mops
-
Wax-based cleaners
-
Oil soaps
-
Vinegar
-
Water-based mopping on non-water-resistant floors
4. Customer Responsibilities
To maintain warranty coverage:
✔ Follow drying and curing instructions
Floors may require 24–48 hours before walking and up to 30 days before placing rugs or tape.
✔ Maintain proper humidity
Keep indoor humidity between 35%–55%.
✔ Use proper floor protectors
Install felt pads on all furniture legs.
✔ Lift furniture — never drag it
Dragging heavy objects voids warranty.
✔ Keep pets’ nails trimmed
Pet damage is not covered.
✔ Clean with approved products
Only use flooring-safe cleaning solutions.
5. Flooring Material Warranty
Many flooring materials (hardwood, LVP, tile, laminate) include a manufacturer warranty.
WC Floors’ workmanship warranty does not cover:

Manufacturing defects

Color variations
-
Factory finish issues
-
Wear layer defects
Claims must be submitted through the manufacturer.
WC Floors will help document these issues if needed.
6. Warranty Claim Procedure
To submit a claim:

Contact WC Floors within 48 hours of discovering the issue.

Provide photos, videos, or documentation showing the problem.

Allow our team to inspect the issue on-site.
If the problem is determined to be a workmanship defect, repairs will be scheduled promptly.
If the issue is not covered, WC Floors will provide a quote for repairs.
7. Warranty Limitations
This warranty is limited to:

The cost of labor for the original installation or service

The specific area where the defect occurred
WC Floors is not liable for:

Incidental damages
-
Furniture replacement
-
Temporary housing
-
Loss of use
-
Damage caused by contractors, pets, homeowners, or environmental conditions
8. Full Warranty Disclaimer
This limited warranty is the only warranty offered by WC Floors. No employee or representative may modify or extend this warranty unless documented in writing.
9. Acceptance of Warranty Terms
By hiring WC Floors, you acknowledge and agree to all terms listed in this Warranty Policy.
